This Ethiopian blessing hand cross is modeled on the hand crosses that priests of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church carry to bless the faithful. Its head is a lattice of openwork interlace: each arm ends in a knot, and small leaves sit between the arms, a design inspired by Ethiopian and Eritrean heritage.
It is made of zinc alloy with a gold-color finish, bright and polished. The ringed handle bears the word JERUSALEM engraved along its length and ends in an openwork square base with a knot that echoes the head.
